The course will teach the way a sewing machine works and the uses of sewing machines. It will also encourage sewers to consider the qualities of textiles and their uses, how to use them in design and learn basic garment construction skills including some decorative techniques. By the end of the course the participants should be able to use a sewing machine, make a pattern copying a simple garment and have the skills to make it from their chosen fabric.
