The Full Story
The Cotswold Company contacted us as they had some fabric samples they no longer needed.
Instead of simply throwing them away Head of Sustainability Jacquie Silvester sent an email to us at ReDo, to find out if we could find a use for them.
This has since developed into something bigger, where these items now support and involve several local businesses, community groups and artisans, as well as being an essential part of several workshops hosted by ReDo Re-Create.
Here you will find some of the many stories connected to the items we
collect from The Costwold Company.
Book binding -
Brailsford Learning
Together with Christina from Brailsford Learning, ReDo is hosting regular workshops on different technique of bookbinding.
In the video here, Christina is telling us more about one of these workshops. This workshop is using 99% reclaimed materials, with only the adhesive being bought new.

Reclaim That Style
Reclaim That Style is a Norwich-based business creating fabulous "Mutt-Mats" and other pet accessories. Using reclaimed materials, including duvets otherwise destined for waste, this is yet another one of sustainabilities unsung heroes.
In the picture, you see one such "Mutt-Mat" made from fabrics donated by The Cotswold Company.
Puppet making -
Norwich Puppet Theater
Norwich Puppet Theater is an amazing venue, hosting everything from creative workshops for children to full productions.
They were thrilled to collect some fabric samples to use in their easter break workshops.
The importance of art and creativity is not to be underestimated. Well done to the maker of this easter rabbit puppet. A future Picasso for sure!
Sewing kits -
ReDo Re.Create
ReDo Re.Create is part of the ReDo family. This is where we arrange workshops, either hosted by ourselves or in co.lab with local artisans.
One of the workshops we host is basic sewing classes, very popular with people of all ages. Every participant walks away with one of these rather amazing basic sewing kits, created from fabric samples from the Cotswold Company.
